You can always keep non-compact licenses. That's no problem. In the compact state, is your license single-state or multistate? - It's a multi-state. - Okay. So, in the event that you move back to a non-compact state, the only thing you need to do is notify the board of nursing of your change of address because they're going to need to downgrade you from multistate to single-state... - Okay. - ...because you won't be eligible for the multistate when you go back and reside in a non-compact state. - Okay.

Because the licensure examination is one of the major hurdles for entry into practice, it is considered to be a high-stakes examination and therefore necessitates high standards to ensure the examination is valid (i.e., measuring what it purports to measure). Certification is defined by the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (1971) as the process by which a non- governmental organization grants recognition to an individual who has met predetermined qualifications specifie ...

Transition to Practice in Nonhospital Settings | NCSBN
Site: ncsbn.org
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. After completion of the TTP study in hospitals with registered nurses (RNs) published earlier in 2015, a study was conducted in nonhospital facilities with RNs and licensed practical nurses to determine if NCSBN’s TTP program could be used effectively across settings. Sites volunteering to participate, however, faced many challenges while the study was underway. This article presents the TTP program, study design, challenges faced by nonhospital sites trying to implement a TTP program, and limited findings Authors Nancy Spector, PhD, RN, FAAN, Mary A.

I oversee the investigation team that receives all the scope of practice in Nevada. So I'm with the boss in Nevada here. And we have a ton of data from our scope of practice questions that we receive. We track every single question. We look at the nature of the question, where those questions are coming from, practice sites, spa owners, etc. In this case, we have data there. We also have data on the number of cases that relate to the unsafe delegation by an advanced practitioner, and also by the nurses who are not getting the appropriate delegation or training to work in this industry.
