In addition, the correlation between total group importance and total group clinical judgment ratings is 0.95, indicating a strong relationship between the two ratings. Conclusion The 2024 RN Practice Analysis used several methods to describe the practice of newly licensed RNs in the U.S.: (1) document reviews; (2) activity logs of newly licensed RNs; (3) SMEs’ knowledge; and (4) a large-scale survey. In addition, there was evidence to support the validity of the activity statement ratings. Based on evidence, the findings of this study can be used to evaluate and support an RN test plan. However, if your ability is close to the passing standard, a longer exam will be administered to gather more information for an accurate pass/fail decision. To ensure content validity, the REx-PN CAT exam adheres to specified percentages for content distribution outlined in the REx-PN test plan. For more details about the REx-PN test plan, please visit the REx-PN website. The CAT algorithms manage the distribution of items by content area specification. This means that whether you take a minimum length exam or I take the maximum length exam, our exams will have the same content area distribution.

As we've seen from the sample survey results we shared earlier from Alaska and Vermont, data shows that nurses overwhelmingly want their state to join the compact. Nevertheless, as Jim points out, there are still other questions that are raised when a state is considering the compact. Although we have anecdotal evidence based on the performance and experience of states in the compact over the past 21 years, we do not have research-based data in many of the areas where questions exist.
