At the closing of this presentation, you will be able to define the NCLEX score transfer process, define the Nursing Regulatory Body (NRB) Review of Exam items. With that knowledge, you will become more familiar with both processes and utilize them well with NCSBN in the future. In general, this overview slide lists the key points for the two processes presented during our presentation today. Without further ado, let's begin with part one, the NCLEX Exam Score Transfer Process. What is the NCLEX Exam Score Transfer? I think, first of all, the data that you had in relation to the low level of individuals being disciplined is something that we know. But it was very useful to see the fact that in terms of, as the policy-shift changes, and the need for remediation, etc., that the discipline rate is pretty consistent in terms of that. And therefore, it points to the fact that the NCLEX is doing its job in terms of minimal safe competence. So I think that was very reassuring. Based on data, we can put ability and test scores on the same chart. We can draw a line, more like a curve here, using a psychometric method called the IRT model. We can now transform test score and ability level. The vertical or the y-axis here is the test score, either in score points or in probability, and the horizontal or x-axis is the ability in logits. The higher your ability is, the higher your score is. Make perfect sense, right? And remember our cut score of 1.8 for our 3-item test based on 2 judges' ratings? What's the logit score?

For example, if it was alleged that a proctor was permitting people to use proxy testers or to bring in notes in exchange for money, one would want to have eyewitnesses establish that this happened. However, there could be attempts to impeach the credibility of the eyewitness. It would help the case if there were also some independent statistical evidence that could confirm the allegation.
