For instance, the incidence of error in prescribing, dispensing, or administering medicine or sedation fell from 28 in 2019 to 16 in 2021. Similarly, the incidence of unauthorized prescription of medication fell from 22 in 2019 to 15 in 2021, and practice beyond the scope of practice remain constant at 3 during the 3-year period. So, right off the bat, this sets a good baseline understanding of comparable year-to-year patient safety.

I just had a call with the Senate and the House Veterans Affairs committee, this bill has been included in an omnibus bill that should pass Memorial Day. So we're very, very hopeful that this is the last Congress we have to introduce that bill. Also likely included in the omnibus bill is S. 372, Ensuring Quality Care for our Veterans Act, and this was introduced by Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa. And this bill directs the Department of Veterans Affairs to contract with non-federal organizations to conduct quality management reviews of hospital care, or medical services that were delivered by a provider who then lost their license in a non-VHA facility.
