Nurses have been called to advance their education by national and professional nursing researchers. In 2010, the Carnegie study of nursing education (Benner, Sutphen, Leonard, & Day, 2010), which compared and evalu- ated nine nursing programs with excellent reputations for teach- ing and learning, studied the state of nursing education. Of the 26 resulting transformative recommendations, four of them support nurses advancing their education. The researchers also made a strong case for increasing the rigor of nursing education and integrating clinical cases and practical experiences through educational processes.

In other words, most program failures occurred within the first three years of participation in the program. This figure shows that the percent of nurses successfully completing a program distinctly correlates with the number of times she or he is selected for a drug test. It also shows that after 26 tests per year, roughly twice a month, there does not seem to be much of an increase in the percent who successfully completed the program. This suggests that establishing a twice a month random selection for drug testing as a program standard would be highly effective.

The results of the 2021 NCLEX-PN Practice Analysis will be used to inform the 2023 NCLEX Test Plan, which will be effective April 1, 2023, with the launch of the Next Generation NCLEX. Now, considering the information gathered in the RN and PN practice analysis, let's visit the proposed 2023 NCLEX-RN and PN Test Plan. After careful analysis of the data in the practice analysis and other data, the NCLEX governing body or the NCLEX Examination Committee recommends a draft of the new test plans. The revision considerations include category structure, category content percentages, and content in the form of activity statements and sample content.

And this is, is this second-class medicine? Obviously, we don't think so, because we're advocates for it, but that is certainly a consideration. The counter to that is equitable access that this is providing access to so many people that wouldn't otherwise have care. But I was just on a visit with some folks from Taiwan that were wanting to talk to us about telehealth in this country. And I'm thinking, I wonder, what are their issues, their primary issues? They have great broadband. They have a government-funded program, so money is not the issue.
