The entry level nurse rater assignments were consistent in both the pre and post-intervention phases. Lastly, the four cases were distributed evenly across the entry-level nurse group. Now, let's take a look at the results. As mentioned, the participants could receive anywhere between 11 and 44 points. Overall, using a pre and post-simulation design, the study results reflected an increase of 4.73 in the Lasater clinical judgment in the post-simulation phase. So we have all this historical data and we're going to get a new patient and we don't know where...we know where the new patient is going to be on that, but we just don't know what label to give to the new patient. So here is a classifier that simply takes of a measured judgment and says, "Ah, because majority of the green points are above this line and majority of the blue points are below this line, I'm going to have a linear boundary that separates it. What's the problem with this? The problem is the error and we talked about medication errors. We talked about efficiency.

I'm going to need some help getting out of here. Let me get back to it, okay? So what was Francis' position? Now, one of the points that I want to make here is that, you know, you have the facts that I gave you. What happens a lot of times when you have these appeals, what the court is looking at is the language of the statute, and that's the world that they operate in, okay?

And, we're getting a lot more information out of them. But more importantly, what I want to show you is how much data we got. So remember, that was 300,000 individuals who took the exam. ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 6 You know how many data points that ended up being? Close to 3 million. That is fabulous. If we think our nurses are not engaged, at least at that level, they are. If I could just get them engaged at the practice analysis level, I'd be really excited about that. Can you imagine 3 million data points on a practice analysis?

So nurse practitioner education is growing rapidly, as many of you know. In this slide, there's just 2 data points, but you can see that from 2020, in the pandemic, to 2024, we've continued to have growth in nurse practitioner programs, both master's level programs, post-master's programs where our nurses already have a master's degree, maybe in education, or maybe even in a nurse practitioner role and they are changing, and a significant growth as well in doctoral-level nurse practitioner education.

They're different documents, and Joan will talk about the Essentials in a bit. But the National Task Force standards and criteria are specific to NP programs. So they go that one step further in talking of about what programs could be doing for meeting quality expectations. There's a lot of process points in that document where we ask for certain policies to be in place, evaluations, curriculum, where it's not as much competency-based as the Essentials are, although there is a little bit that leads to competency. So that's where the overlap is with...
