She encouraged me to open the lines of communication and begin to break down the walls of the regulator. She gently reminded me to keep the board's mission always in my forefront. My mentor truly knows all the ins and outs. Thanks to NCSBN and the education consultant program, I was also allowed to shadow a site visit with my mentor. This came at a most opportune time as I was gearing up to do my first site visit in Wyoming just two months after shadowing. My mentor could have done the bare minimum, but once you've met her, you understand quickly that's not what she does.

Through a written agreement, participating boards have designated Nursys as their primary source equivalent and authorized Nursys to share publicly available data. QuickConfirm license verification is simple to use. With just a few details about a nurse, you'll get the documentation you need in a snap. The site allows you to search for a nurse in a couple of different ways. Search by name, license type and state for a list of matching results, or search by license number, license type and state to get more accurate results. You also have the option to search by the nurse's NCSBN ID.

And we actually tried to work with CMS and Innovation Center to change that, but it didn't move. So we actually were stuck with this incremental methodology for the entire demonstration. Then the contracting. The contracting also was really complex in that, not only did the schools with the clinical training site had to have a contract related to their students being in the site, but now they also had to have a contract related to the GNE Demonstration. And that contract was actually between us as the hospital system, and now the clinical training partner.

Divided into two phases, the study will establish both internal (registered nurses [RNs] in hospital settings) and external (RNs and licensed practical/vocational nurses [LPN/VNs] in non-hospital settings) validity. There are 113 hospi- tals in Illinois, Ohio and North Carolina participating in Phase I as either a control or intervention site. Newly licensed nurses at intervention sites will com- plete five online modules, work one-on-one with a trained preceptor and receive institutional sup- port from their facility. Newly licensed nurses at control sites will take part in the facility’s existing on-boarding strategy.
