So, in all seriousness, this is a very busy time in Washington. The presidential impeachment process is behind Congress and so they're in a sprint right now to really complete a number of legislative priorities that some that have important programmatic deadlines such as government funding bills for FY 2021, and then they need to address other immediate needs for example, I just received an alert as I walked up here that they reached an agreement on a coronavirus supplemental funding package. So, that's going to be you know, working its way through the process in the next few weeks.

If Amy's new home state is a compact state, she can continue practicing on her former multistate license, but only until she is issued a new multistate license. She cannot wait until her license expires before applying for a new one. Program administra- tors were asked to enumerate the total number of clinical hours provided by their program and the hours spent by students performing various types of activities during clinical hours such as direct care, observation, skills lab or care management. This section also included items related to the types of clinical sites used and the specific activities allowed in the program’s contracted clinical setting(s) such as IV starts, delegation of tasks, calling physicians and teaching clients. The second section contained questions primarily related to the didactic aspect of curriculum including if and how general didactic content and content related to the care of specific client populations were taught in nursing programs.

We do have CNAs on the floor, however, they only work when they feel like work, therefore the LPN/VN or RN has to do all the care and perform the nursing responsi- bilities as well. Upon observing aberrant test-tak- ing behaviors or procedural irregularities, test administrators are trained to immediately record the incidents. Depending on the nature of the incidents, candidates’ results may be placed on hold for further analyses to determine validity of the test scores. Incidents from testing sites are monitored daily. In addition to NCSBN and test service staff, the incident reporting sys- tem is accessible to NCSBN’s member Boards of Nursing. All authorized parties can instantly review a report of a can- didate who engaged in misconduct or aberrant test-taking behaviors.

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Violent Death Reporting System, found that between 2007 and 2018, nurses were 18% more likely to die from suicide than the general population. Among female nurses, the risk of death by suicide was nearly twice the risk observed in the general population, and 70% more likely than female physicians (Davis, et. al, 2021). The most recent study published September 2023 in JAMA looked at “a nationally representative group of more than 1.8 million adults ages 26 and older in data that spanned from 2008 through 2019” and found that an “analysis of the data showed that health care support workers, registered nurses and health technicians were more likely than non- health care workers to die by suicide.
