    The survey also included questions about the nurses’ practice settings, past experiences and demographics. Six forms of the survey were created to reduce the number of activity statements on each survey and sent via the internet to a sample of newly licensed LPN/ VNs. Four of the survey forms contained 26 activity statements each, and two survey forms contained 25 activity statements. Except for the activity statements unique to each survey form, the surveys were identical. Survey Process Sample Selection A sample of 26,559 recipients was randomly selected from the candidates who passed the NCLEX-PN® examination from April 8, 2023, through Feb. 15, 2024.

    C&D = Adverse Action, Encumbrance, continued • Because a C&D order is an adverse action and an encumbrance, it is both reportable to NURSYS and NPDB, and is also incompatible with retaining a MSL • Someone with a C&D order against them may only hold a single state license Key Points – the Compact’s C&D Authority • The NLC gives your state authority to issue a C&D • Even if your state law didn’t give the authority, the Compact provides the authority • A home state may issue a C&D on an MSL • A remote state may issue a C&D on the PTP. • Most commonly, C&D is utilized by the remote state, on the PTP. • The due process permitted for a nurse issued a C&D through the Compact depends on your applicable state laws.

A multistate license facilitates cross-border practice for many types of nurses who routinely practice with patients in other states, including primary care nurses, case managers, transport nurses, school and hospice nurses and many others.
