I am a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in nursing, most recently for the past seven years in test development. Today, we are going to discuss an overview of NCLEX exam development. NCSBN promotes patient safety and public protection through the NCLEX exam, which is both fair and comprehensive, entry-level, and reflective of current nursing practice. The NCLEX measures minimum competency of the entry-level nurse. To this end, the entry-level nurse must demonstrate a passing score, which is an indication of the ability to provide basic nursing care safely.

I am the Operations Manager in the Exams Department at NCSBN. Myself, along with the operations team, monitor the administration of the NCLEX, ensuring the fair and secure delivery of the exam. By the end of today's session, you will be able to discuss NCLEX security measures, define the NCLEX accommodation process, and identify some common accommodation requests.
