These are issues that many governments in the higher income countries are tackling. So on the health care side, this means we need to have inter-professional multidisciplinary teams. And you know that the education system is not preparing the workers for that. And importantly, and this is something our Nordic colleagues: Norway, Sweden, have banged us many times. They said, "You cannot forget and treat patients as a separate entity. Patients are a part of the team." It's a huge sea change when you make them an equal partner, as part of the team.

Points of Interest What’s Important: Open caseload is an accurate, but ultimate not very informative predictor of inefficient case resolution. Open caseloads > 787 correctly identified 90% of the cases that would ultimately run over the median closure time. Points of Interest What’s Important: Case/Investigator Ratio is an accurate and informative predictor of inefficient case resolution.

A Nurse Practice Act is the law governing practice, and administrative rules or regulations provide more specific information. - Keeping the public safe is a shared responsibility and everyone on the team has to play an active part. - As a nurse manager, I've seen a few problems over the years with nurses who violate the Nurse Practice Act.

Participants explored the objective versus the subjective nature of decision-making in this area, and the importance and challenges of clarity regarding accountability. Nuanced decision-making is challenging for humans, and it is therefore also challenging for a learning support tool, but for different reasons.
