Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators Elects 2024 Executive Committee | NCSBN
Site: ncsbn.org
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. Additionally, almost every nurse, including primary care nurses, case managers, transport nurses, school and hospice nurses, among many others, needs to routinely cross state boundaries to provide the public with access to nursing services, and a multistate license facilitates this process. The NEC helps to provide item disposition and also reviews and approves NCLEX items before they can become operational or scored on the exam. Additionally, the NEC establishes and maintains NCLEX policies for the exam to remain current, entry-level, comprehensive of nursing practice, and safe for the public. For additional information on item writing and item review, please visit our NCLEX webinar series available on the website. If you or your colleagues are interested in becoming a volunteer for our item development opportunities, you can also visit our website to sign up.
