    Basically, why does a central panel matter? Our function is to provide independence and fairness in adjudicatory proceedings. It's not just about bad actors and making sure...policing bad entities or executive agencies, it's to ensure that citizens have a fair and meaningful opportunity to an adjudication. Otherwise, the investigative, the prosecutorial, and the judicial functions are all in one branch. How fair does it seem to you when the same agency that investigated you, brought charges against you, also decides whether or not they proved their case?

    From 1999 to 2016, there was an overall 24% increase in suicide rates, and as you can see on this slide not necessarily evenly distributed across all different states. Now, you know, suicide and opioids you may have seen, have tracked together. And while it's difficult to really study accurately, there is an estimate now that about 20% to 30% of opioid-related overdose deaths are likely suicides. Most people who die of an opioid-related overdose death don't necessarily leave a suicide note, but of those suicides where there is actual documentation that this is a suicide attempt, that the proportion of those suicides that involve overdoses has doubled between 1999 and 2014.

    Then, we'll also analyze COVID-19 questions this summer to determine the impact on nursing education. From what we've seen so far there's been quite an impact as I've said. While many programs have said that their learning outcomes have been about the same fair number has said that their outcomes have been worse. And, of course, we'll publish our aggregated results of the COVID-19 questions. We are really excited about our first-ever nursing education database. Both the NRBs and the nursing education programs will be able to use the benchmarks we have developed.
