Using the data collected from the practice analysis, the REx-PN Test Plan is developed, which guides the selection of content and behaviors to be tested during REx-PN administration. NCSBN online course offerings for external audiences are available through the NCSBN Learning Extension campus located at learningext.com. NCSBN Learning Extension delivered 43,600 online courses during FY13. The course catalog of 45 courses covers a range of subjects, including continuing education courses for nurses, preparatory courses for licensure exam candidates, and item writing and test development courses for nursing faculty.

Data from chemically dependent nurses as well as case histories of discipline cases, will be collected from NCSBN jurisdictions with alternative programs and from those without such programs. Data from boards of nursing and alternative-to-discipline programs will also be used for data analysis. The results of this study will be valuable for boards to identify best practices in regulation.
