The Model Nursing Practice Act and Nursing Administrative Rules are also available in the Policy section. One last resource on the website that Education Consultants find valuable is the Web Survey tool (link when you log into Passport). This tool can be used to send surveys to education consultants at other boards of nursing. There is a Help icon on the top of web survey with some FAQs; or you can call me and I’ll introduce you to this tool.

These are seasoned practitioners in most cases. And so, what does that competency piece need to look at? And then their CE that they have to complete for that maintenance cycle is targeted based on their assessment. So, for instance, I always have to do pharmacology, always. I'll die doing pharmacology content, I've decided. And so, I'm okay with that. But in my CE profile, I take that assessment. I know I have to have 10 hours of pharmacology every renewal cycle and then I can have 10 hours of general CE, whatever I want to learn about.

And this is where the organism is trying to fight back against the stresses that it's facing. But what happens over time is that there is an exhaustion. The animal actually becomes exhausted, just cannot continue to hold on and fight back against that stressor. The organism becomes exhausted and will eventually get sick and die. Now, I think this is also a good fit for addiction. Oftentimes, when people make a recovery attempt, there's an alarm reaction. There may be a problem with your employer, a problem at home, a problem with the police, some kind of incident or injury or accident or overdose that happens that bursts the bubble. ©2025 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.
