Call to Order President Donna Dorsey called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM on August 2, 2006. G.1. Review of Proposed Bylaw Revisions Action #1 The Board discussed the membership comments regarding the proposed bylaw revisions. The Board moved to propose amending Article III, Section 1.a. by striking the term, “advanced practice” and inserting in Article III, Section 1.c. the term “nursing regulatory” in front of the word “association” and deleting the term “thereof”.

A survey of nurses is being conducted. • DC: 7 of 13 council members support the NLC bill. There is opposition from the nursing union and concerns about financial impact. Staff anticipate a hearing this fall. • HI: The workgroup just concluded. P. Zickafoose (DE) and S. Richardson (TN) discussed their compact experiences with the workgroup. A workgroup 3 report may be published in December or January. • MA: An NLC bill will be heard in the healthcare financing committee next week.
