While investment allocations were within the range required by policy, the liquidation of the stock mutual funds moved the investment portfolio allocations closer to their central target amounts. This treasury management strategy was also executed to best manage the planned use of investment earnings in on-going operations and to maintain a well- capitalized cash position. The cash would temporarily be invested in bank certificates of deposit (CD) having different maturity dates to build a CD ladder and take advantage of the current high yields provided by CDs.
