    Jim Cleghorn led the committee through an orientation regarding the committee’s role and work. The NCSBN Conflict of Interest statement was read and acknowledged by the committee, with no declared conflicts. The committee discussed the positive impact of the International Center for Regulatory Scholarship (ICRS) program on candidates and considered how ICRS could assist with developing and mentoring future leaders.

    Definition of significant investigative information: [Article II (d)(1-2)] Investigative information that a licensing board, after a preliminary inquiry that includes notification and an opportunity for the nurse to respond if required by state law, has reason to believe is not groundless and, if proved true, would indicate more than a minor infraction; or investigative information that indicates that the nurse represents an immediate threat to public health and safety regardless of whether the nurse has been notified and had an opportunity to respond.

Policy Assessment & Action Report on Mobility The Board reviewed and discussed the proposed international mobility of nurses public policy action plan. NCSBN staff will start implementation of the plan in September 2005. The plan includes monitoring mobility issues and relevant legislation, collaboration with stakeholders, and developing and distributing a communiqué regarding NCSBN policy and other information to all stakeholders.
