The adaptive algorithms can recapture your true ability later when you perform stably on the exam. In the Next Generation NCLEX CAT Exam, you will be given both dichotomous and the polytomous scoring items. Dichotomous items can only be scored as correct or incorrect. You get one point for a correct response and zero points for an incorrect response. Polytomous scoring means items can have a multiple score points, such as 1, 2, and 3.
