Approximately 53% of associate degree pro- grams and approximately 52% of diploma programs are accredited. Only 10.6% of practical/vocation programs were found to be accredited. Figure 1 shows the breakdown of the NCLEX® code-approved programs and accredited programs. Accreditation rates previously reported from 2012 applied a similar methodology (Spector & Woods, 2013). Since 2012, there has been a 6.5% increase (N = 3,874 in 2012) in the number of programs across all types but a majority of this is due to the large increase in baccalaureate programs, 811 (in 2012) to 1,036 (present).

Tip Sheet October 2013 Federal Reporting of State Licensure Actions - Reinstatements There is only one reporting scenario that does not require a 1280/1480 revision to action to reinstate an individual’s license or privilege to practice — when the disciplinary action of probation or suspension is reported with a specific time period AND automatic reinstatement box is checked. All other scenarios require the board of nursing to enter a revision to action — 1280/1480 (license restored or reinstated, complete or multistate licensure privilege restored or reinstated, complete) in order for NPDB to reflect a reinstatement.
