This publication provides a brief overview of how Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) works, how the passing standard is set, and how the pass/fail decision is made at the beginning.     It's been my honor to have served as a member of the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission since 2013. And this summer, my second full four-year term will come to an end.
