And I think that was really helpful because then what happens is they can say... Maybe they give themselves a 2 on, you know, under responding in a calm, confident manner. And if the preceptor looks at it and says, "Actually, you are a 3," and in the section to the right, they can say why they put them as a 3.

I mean, I think the original discussions were back in the late 1990s, the mid-1990s, and then it's evolved over time. And so at this point, I'd like to invite Nicole to come and tell you a little bit about the history of the Compact and what the Board has outlined, some of the charges for the membership.

In the operational IELTS test, the two individual scores taken from Task 1 and Task 2 in the Academic (and General Training) Writing module of the IELTS are combined into one overall band score. The overall band score for writing is computed by applying a 1/3 weight to the band score from Task 1 and a 2/3 weight from the band score from Task 2.
