In this example, there are three keys. So the max score for this item is three. The examinee makes four selections, however, three correct options, and one incorrect options. By taking the difference between the correct and incorrect options, this examinee earned two total points. Now, imagine that an examinee only makes two selections. However, they are both the correct option. This results in the same total score of two points. Now imagine that another examinee makes a lot of selections. This includes two correct options, but also three incorrect options.
