If you are familiar with the literature on recidivism, I don't think you'll find a study that has followed its participants quite that long. Again, I told you primary recidivism would be the same infraction, secondary recidivism another infraction of a different type. And then in the other category, things like voluntary surrender of the license, non-renewal of the license, death of the registrant, failure in clinical competence assessments causing revocation. Those kinds of things. So you can see it's a small sample. I grant you that. It is a small sample. But the numbers are still pretty good, roughly about 3% recidivism rate over anywhere from 6 to 11 years after the course was taken.

The ROU assets also include any initial direct costs incurred and lease payments made at or before the commencement date and are reduced by any lease incentives. To determine the present value of lease payments, NCSBN made an accounting policy election available to non-public companies to utilize a risk-free borrowing rate, which is aligned with the lease term at the lease commencement date (or remaining term for leases existing upon the adoption of Topic 842). This experience was my introduction into leadership in regulation and when an opportunity came to pivot my career to full time nursing regulation, I took a chance. In 2012 I began working at CRNNS as a practice consultant. In this role I was able to provide nurses across Nova Scotia with the best possible regulatory guidance and professional practice advice to support them in their practice. In 2021 I was promoted to the Director of Standards and Guidance, Education Program Approval and Customer Experience. Within this role I am privileged to provide leadership and strategic oversight to my team. I am the proud mom to 2 wonderful adult children and over the last 23 years I have supported their growth and dreams.
