Because, you know, within the next two weeks, we're going to see you and we're going to need those fingernails of yours." And then you can sort of judge if you see that they're, you know, bitten down or trimmed down to the nubs, you can consider that non-compliance. I mean, because you gave them instruction ahead of time. And we've even turned people around and say, "Okay, we'll see you two weeks from today and we're taking nails." And then if they continue to clip them short, you know, that's another thing we can use as sort of a non-compliance marker too.

And so with the certified medication aides, we have a group of now they're classified all long-term care facilities, but at one point in time, the assisted living homes were classified under something else, okay, like a different social model. But years ago, one of the ring leaders who was a lobbyist, very connected with these assisted living homes, he slid in the bill. That's how they were able to have non-licensed or non-credentialed people passing medications in these assisted living homes. And it was slid under a bill that wasn't even health-related. And so whenever we started this journey and I was setting... I imagine you're probably very familiar with HRSA. So essentially, pretty much all government agencies, you will even find us at the Department of Interior. We have nurses...well, not just nurses, but officers that work at the parks, at the national parks. In fact, I get a chance to visit Yosemite in the spring. So I'm excited about that. We serve on the front lines of public health emergencies. So whenever a local infrastructure is decimated or overwhelmed, usually that happens when there are forest fires or hurricanes, we deploy.

Those are clinical things that we teach now in all education in nursing school, but the problem that we're having is many say, "Well, there's a nurses shortage, let's build more schools." Well, as we know, educators are not out there. The educators that we do have are in the aged population, and we also don't have clinical sites. So we're going to have to make the best use of AI and VR that we can to educate the nurses to help prepare them for the critically ill patients. - So let me come back to that and just... I failed to introduce the panel. So I was so excited by getting to the topic, I didn't tell you who was up here.

NCSBN's 11-member, elected Board of Directors oversees implementation of policy and directing the activities of the organization. She has spent the last two decades working somewhere in the spectrum of healthcare settings including assisted living, acute care, clinical trials research, quality improvement and most recently, nursing regulation. When do we anticipate that this might be available to graduates? - [Steve] It's a great question. Obviously everybody wants to know how soon they can get onto this, right? Right now what we are anticipating is that we will likely launch some availability of a non-test center solution within the year of 2026. We're not sure exactly how expansive that will be at this point in time because there's a lot of moving parts, as you can imagine, to a system this complex. And of course, security is first and foremost on our mind in terms of rolling this out.
