This has increased the ability to respond to needs and there has been an increase in the use of telehealth provision during the crisis. Patients can protect themselves and others by getting needed treatment by a telehealth consultation rather than having to visit a provider in person. However, with regards to wider mobility, some population data has suggested that global mobility is not a solution to workforce shortages at this time due to the risks that moving a person from one country to another can bring in COVID-19 spread.

Michael Payne: Candidate for LSC Area II Member | NCSBN
Site: ncsbn.org
Detail your involvement with NCSBN (e.g., attending NCSBN meetings/conferences, subject matter expert panelist, participation on networking calls and NCSBN committee member) that make you a strong fit for the LSC. I have been attending NCSBN annual, mid year, leadership, and discipline conferences since 2021 through the present day. I was a member of the most recent Governance and By-Laws Committee, which I found to be very rewarding. My experience on the committee made me enthusiastic about continuing my work on behalf of NCSBN on the LSC. Identify the attributes of effective leaders and explain what leadership means to you: First and foremost, leadership starts with being present, accessible and prepared.

Initial Review of Complaint | NCSBN
Site: ncsbn.org
The first consideration in reviewing a complaint from a member of the public or a health care facility is whether the board of nursing has jurisdiction or authority to enforce laws or pronounce legal judgments over the particular person and the particular action. Types of cases include: Misappropriation of medications intended for clients Failure to document or falsely document that medications were administered to clients Engagement in intemperate use of medications causing impairment Attempting to obtain drugs by communicating or presenting unauthorized prescriptions to pharmacies Boundary Violations Boundary violation cases are recognized by non therapeutic relationships that are formed between a nurse and a client in which the nurse derives a benefit at the client’s expense. Compared to boundary crossings in which the roles are blurred without gain to the nurse, boundary violation cases demonstrate an over-extension of the therapeutic relationship into the realm of personal profit on the nurse’s part.

Some information housed in Nursys, such as a nurse's participation in an alternative program, is only available via Nursys to boards in the eNLC. If a user from an eNLC board is viewing a license that has the Alternative to Discipline indicator, they will see the ATD field that shows which board assigned the Alternative to Discipline indicator and when. Non-eNLC board users will not see this information. Boards already use nursys.org in daily operations to check licensure status and discipline before and during the initial licensure process, share information about disciplinary actions, access electronic and secure verifications.
