Thanks to the tech people who've been very supportive through this session and I believe I've left us about 10 minutes for some questions and conversation. - Dr. Brennan, thank you very much. That was an excellent presentation and extremely informative and enlightening. I'd like to open it up now for questions for Dr. Brennan. Please put them in the Q&A section on your website. Dr. Brennan, the first question I have is from Carrie Downing. She asks, "How many clinical trials do not make it to publication?" She says she knows you mentioned it but she missed the number. - Carrie, this is a number I'm not very proud to be restating again.

We also put out a lot of alerts to nurses in general. This is a pattern. This is a trend. These are the numbers of actions the board has taken. We put it in social media, both on Twitter and Facebook, but we also put it in our newsletter, and we put an article on our website to alert nurses. And we did more than one article for the newsletter. So we kept that on the front page for them for a while so they would understand the seriousness of it. So I think that those are the things that we learned. Probably the most effective thing were the policy changes, the law changes that created the deterrence that I spoke of.

So let's take a quick look at the navigation panel on the left-hand side. Okay? As our first stop, let's check out the Toolkit. And as you can see, we've been doing a lot of work working very hard to develop a lot of these educational resources for you. One of the things we haven't gotten to is redesigning the website but we promise you, it's on our to-do list. Okay. So here's what's important on this page, FAQs from the public, you can view those from here. There you go. Examples of moving scenarios. Information for military nurses. A fact sheet for travel nurses.

The Leadership in Public Policy Conference is our bi-annual conference hoping to bolster nurse regulators in policy space and presentations at NCSBN meetings like this is how we can further connect with you all. And these are just a few helpful links. Each of our advocacy campaigns has a website. You are able to view presentations from the Public Policy Conference if you'd like to consider joining us in 2024. It was a great time, I would recommend, and the Policy Knowledge Network. If you would like to add yourself or any of your colleagues, please feel free to email me, and Compact Connection, you can subscribe, however, you subscribe for NCSBN communications in that way.

This theory of bias was first discussed in a 1998 paper, based on the results of Implicit Association Tests, IATs taken by many different people. The Harvard Implicit Project, which was created that same year has administered tens of millions of IATs to people online. On its website, the Harvard Implicit Project says the IAT measures the strength of attitudes and beliefs that people may be unwilling or unable to report. The results of this testing has confirmed when people are asked to quickly associate the concept of good or bad with faces of different races or different ethnic groups, almost everyone, regardless of background, is slower in their reactions when associating good with people of color than they are associating good with white faces.

Through conference presentations, webinars and website resources, we want to be sure that educators, candidates and other stake- holders all have real-time access to the most current and accurate information about the exam. As the countdown to launch is now measured in months and weeks rather than years, we can look back on the significant body of research that brought us here.

You know, the federation certainly addresses risk in a lot of its documents, whether that's in model policy, or in guidelines or even in communications with boards and various research projects that we engage in. But in terms of an actual formal definition of risk-based regulation, we haven't done that in a way that's been in a public-facing way on our website or in any of our guidance documents. We did survey our state medical boards, we survey them at least annually on a number of different topics. And in 2016, we decided to include a question on risk-based regulation to find out where they were at with the concept or whether they'd implemented any strategies.
