We thank those states for giving us their orders to use for this presentation, but do want to make sure that any comments made about that are from our opinions, they're not comments from those exact states. We did anonymize all of our examples. We didn't want to put nurses on blast just because their order was lucky enough to be picked for these examples, so there are redacted copies of orders in the materials https://www.ncsbn.org/past-event/2025-dcm-conference ©2025 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

We used to do case study, but more of this evidence is to keep the cases really short, so you can build these higher-level questions. So when I go to conferences in nursing education, especially at the end of the semester, people complain about having so many concept maps to read, so many care plans to read, so many written assignments. Well, the bad news is for the educator putting those in his or her courses, there's a really skimpy evidence base on the outcomes of written assignments. And it's hard to believe because we've used those ©2025 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 7 for years in nursing, very limited evidence.
