So again, it's about what's going on in your jurisdiction and what can your jurisdiction support without compromising the fact that what is in the best interest of the education of future nurses. - Thank you, Ruby. And I will add to that that the committee was fortunate to be able to look at the outcomes and metrics study guidelines that came out as we were actually meeting as a committee. So kudos to Nancy Spector and her team for putting that together. That was really informative for this specific section. So thank you. All right. We'll move on to the next question from Shannon Dobbin. Research also shows that the real learning and simulation occurs during debriefing. It's not about the mannequins.

And equally important, they're supported through empirical evidence from the data that we've collected. So let's go over the three scoring rules and categorize the new NGN items. The first scoring rule is the most classic rule. It's the 0/1 Scoring Rule. Here, examinees earn a point for a correct response. If they select an incorrect option, then they fail to earn that point. For multi-point items, the sum of all the correct responses is the total for that item. Perhaps the most common item type for this scoring rule is the multiple choice item.

It was established by legislation in 2002. So grateful for those visionary nurses that got that legislation through. And we celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2022. And also grateful to the NCSBN in supporting this research with the 2019 grant. So, what do we know about the LPN workforce? We know there are nearly a million LPNs in the country, and they're essential members of the healthcare team.

So, when we think about policy change, full practice authority is a very cost-effective policy change. I will say this. When you talk to state legislators, they're very concerned about cost. Like when you privately talk to them, they're concerned about cost. And my story, I think, is that, look, this is actually good for state policy. Because, for example, with my diabetes patients, it's much easier to treat people and put them on metformin than it is to perform an amputation. It's bad for the government and it's bad for patients. Right? So, it's much easier for us to treat chronic conditions than to perform heavy operations.
