Breaking old habits 6/24/2020 4:51 PM 8 Communication with your employees. 6/24/2020 4:28 PM 9 We have learned that we can operate just as well through telework or with half staff in the office and half staff out of the office. We have learned how to keep our hands clean (should have been doing that anyway) and that our Respondents can get a good service of due process from home and not have to travel to Jackson if it causes hardship. 6/24/2020 4:03 PM 10 Teleworking can be productive but only if the person teleworking has the self-motivation to make it successful.

So with that, if you're interested in artificial intelligence, I have with the help of a generous grant from the foundation and the Institute, there's an ebook that's available before the real book comes out. We have a monthly or bimonthly magazine that you can read all the talks from previous meetings called Artificial Intelligence in Medicine are uploaded, including talks on regulatory issues. And that's the URL for the website. And for those of you, that's my contact information, including my cell phone, by the way, if people want to text me. I don't get an overabundance of calls or texts, so don't worry. And this is our big sort of the Olympics of AI medicine meetings.

You know, the federation certainly addresses risk in a lot of its documents, whether that's in model policy, or in guidelines or even in communications with boards and various research projects that we engage in. But in terms of an actual formal definition of risk-based regulation, we haven't done that in a way that's been in a public-facing way on our website or in any of our guidance documents. We did survey our state medical boards, we survey them at least annually on a number of different topics. And in 2016, we decided to include a question on risk-based regulation to find out where they were at with the concept or whether they'd implemented any strategies.

Normal memory and traumatic memory are stored differently by the brain, okay? So the hippocampus, and this is great, right, this is the first time I've ever done this, so you're welcome, all right, I really did this, all right. You can take a picture of that thing and go to that website. You don't even have to write it down, right? All right, never mind. All right, okay. I missed him on that joke right there, all right? I'm gonna keep working. All right. So just like your prefrontal cortex is impaired during traumatic events, so is your hippocampus, right?

And then ultimately at the organizational or enterprise level, this is where you want to have AI task forces. Now, in a small organization, you only got 15 people and you're holding a nursing regulatory body, that may just be a single person that coordinates across 3 or 4 key teams. In a much larger one, it may be another team of three or four people. And in a large enterprise organization, it could be dozens. But these task forces can help to share best practices and policies across teams, across the organization as a whole.

So now we're going to talk a little bit about how we can create simulations that will follow the standards of best practice and also support teaching our learners about critical judgment. On the left-hand side, I provided a QR code. The standards, there are 10 of them. They are readily available on the INACSL website for free, so I would encourage you to scan that QR code so you can have access to those standards. So we don't have time to focus on all the standards. However, we're going to spend a little bit of time focusing on some of them. The first one that we're going to talk about is the simulation design.

We have about 15 training programs that have already been approved in Kentucky. We also now are utilizing the MACE exam, which is offered through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing through Credentia. So that is just now getting ready to go up on our website within the next two weeks. So we're very...we've had very good results from this. And I also, just another caveat, I think it's important for the regulator executive director to be involved with professional organizations that speak to these entities.
