And then, these are the demographics. You can see the educators and the education consultants were very similar. Fifty-six percent had doctorates of the educators. Fifty percent of the education consultants, they all had a lot of experience. The clinical nurse educators had a fair amount of experience as well, but only 19% had doctorates and we think that's probably one of the reasons we saw differences between the groups. So, our results. Well, the agreement ranged from 78% to 100%. Remember, our set point was 67%, so, they agreed on everything.

So, specific procedural steps will not be offered on the NGN section of the exam. - Okay, Lisa, I'm going to bring it back to you. There was, I think, more an observation than a question, but maybe you could comment on it, that the Matrix/Grid item type in a way feels like a Select All That Apply that just has a different look and format. Is that fair? - Thanks, Jason. It sort of is like a Select All That Apply. However, the difference is that when you're going to have a Multiple Choice Matrix, you have to select one answer per row, whereas the Multiple Response Matrix, you select more than that. ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

Because most of the boards of nursing are mandated to approve nursing programs, the boards are interested in knowing the evidence-based elements of nursing education that are essential for preparing new nurses for safe entry-level practice. While boards’ rules address minimum educational standards, they should also be fair and consistent. Boards have no interest in overburdening programs with needless requirements. In this time of nursing and faculty shortages, the legislators are asking boards of nursing for evidence to support their rules and regulations. Therefore, NCSBN has begun to study evidence- based nursing education that will provide for safe and effective entry into practice.
