Also, available of on-site daycare. New graduate nurse residency programs were important. Both the nurses and the graduating nursing students commented on how it's so important to have transition to practice programs, relocation expense support, and also support for professional development such as attending conferences and also to obtain certification in different specialties. ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

And again, since this was kind of a one-shot wonder, we're not doing across the whole course, let alone a whole program. We're doing literally one set of learning objectives. We wanted to focus on students who are in their first acute care clinical site or course. And we focused on four specific learning objectives that we thought were complex enough that we could see changes or improvement in them, but also simple enough that you could address them in somebody's first clinical course. So our learning objectives were identify actual potential safety hazards in the patient environment, apply therapeutic communication with patients and families, demonstrate effective interprofessional communication using Esper, and demonstrate safe medication administration.

And we really want to thank the FSMB for partnering with the Lorna Breen Foundation, which is doing some amazing work in this space right now to track the progress. So, we're hoping that the same can be done for nursing and pharmacy. So, what we found, or what they found, is that 21 boards asked no questions about mental illness, which is the preference of the ADA. About 26 boards directly asked questions that seemed to be questionable or in direct violation of ADA standards. If you haven't read this paper yet, I highly recommend it, published in Nursing Outlook very recently. Judy was one of the primary contributors.

That's what we want, right? We want good memories disclosed back to the investigator. And how do we get those? So, traditional or [00:26:30] historical approach, right? Chronological. Who, what, when, and why, and sometimes how, right? Most people here, right? That's what we want. Expectation of a complete memory recall, lack of understanding regarding impact of trauma. Who here will say that's the way they initially started being trained as to ask questions, right?

The ones presented here are actually demographic and practice characteristics, the Nurse Practitioner Organizational Climate Questionnaire, and nurse practitioner reports, what they're saying about the quality of care in their hospitals. And, of course, we used the typical descriptive and inferential statistics to examine these nurse practitioners by practice site. We found that we had survey responses from 1,263 acute care nurse practitioners and 2,343 primary care nurse practitioners. We did see a significant difference in age, the acute care nurses had a tendency to be a bit younger, on average, 47.9 years of age, where primary care nurse practitioners were 50 years of age.
