Gorsky, an 86-year-old woman who's experiencing post-operative delirium three days after a hip replacement. The patient has also had some challenges maintaining consistent oxygen saturations. All goes well in the morning, but by mid-afternoon, the patient is not communicating clearly, she's experiencing erratic behavior, and is putting her surgical site at risk. Talking to Samantha, you learn that she, Samantha, is overwhelmed. In addition, Mrs. Gorsky's granddaughter keeps interrupting Samantha to ask about her grandma's needs. And so, I love the work of finding evidence in innovation. I mean, I've...kind of like the change thing. And so I've learned really hard-to-do applications and see if it works and test it out. And so, one of my best applications has to do with the MasterCard bill. I mean, does anybody have a credit card bill? Okay. Do you charge on it? Okay. So, do you get, like, three or four pages sometimes? I mean, that's a good month for me. So, you know, my husband used to say to me, "Da,da,da,da, blank, blank, blank, Kathy.Do you need all this stuff?"

Candidates confirm their understanding and agreement by providing digital signatures, noting that violation of any of the rules will result in withholding or cancelation of test results. Non-compliant candidates are not allowed to test. These standardized procedures are subjected to security audits by NCSBN staff. Random site visits and regular review of procedures are part of the overall security plan. After candidates complete the check-in process, they begin testing in one of the standardized testing rooms. The testing rooms are designed for optimal monitoring by trained test administrators.

There's tidaling with deep inspiration, but they're refusing to use the incentive spirometer stating it causes left-sided chest pain. They're using the PCA every hour, maxing it out. They have intermittent nausea, some vomiting. They do have good urine output here. And we have an abdominal surgical incision site assessment. The dressing is clean, dry, intact, nowhere erythema, edema, or drainage noted to the site. So, again, the candidate would hover over this paragraph, this piece of information in sections, it could be either the whole sentence or it could be a piece of the sentence, whatever the writer pulled out as a key or a distractor, and when they click, it would turn that dark yellow color.

. - [Toni] And my name is Toni Herron. I'm the Education Compliance Officer for the Indiana State Board of Nursing. I'm representing regulation. All 102 schools of pre-licensure nursing in the state are my responsibility. So, as you can tell, I'm going to have to be very busy with my site visits. - Great. Well, we are going to start with one of the educators. Deena, maybe I'll start with you. Joan had stressed the role of the faculty in competency-based education to be that coach and mentor, rather than to be the teacher or the person on the platform with all the PowerPoints.
