So, for instance, we might look at licensed psychologists that we think tend to be licensed in all 50 states, and compare those to an occupation we think is generally unlicensed, such as biologists. And if psychologists make more money than biologists, we say, "Voilà, there is evidence there that licensing raises wages." Voilà. Again, I can think of about 16 things wrong with this, in part because I have yet to say, "I think I'll go visit my biologist today, I'm feeling slightly blue, my biologist will cheer me up." There is an obvious consumer component to psychologists that are missing from laboratory biologists. And so the comparison breaks down if these two occupations differ in any way.

Progress will be reviewed by the executive committee at its next meeting, and in these next few months, a written document will be shared with the commission for review and comments. ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. But until then, we are just happy to be back on the rules road again. - So everybody's coming up. So, when we start the presentation, you should still be able to see the PIN code on the screen if you've not quite gotten ready yet, but we'll be doing this whole presentation through Kahoot.

So for an example, I would take, I like to use faculty-made videos that actually model expert judgment and expert ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 12 action. So if we took a patient that, for example, had a respiratory issue and was in the home setting, we have a nurse who does a visit and visiting another faculty member who actually is acting as a patient. And like I said, it's on video. The patient has many symptoms, including circumoral power, shortness of breath, clubbed fingers, edema that's noticeable. And there's also things in the environment that are planted on the video, such as there could be a package of cigarettes on a table.

And if you think about it from an obstetrical standpoint, those physicians that are prepared to care for women, deliver babies, and do high-risk perinatal care, they are 22 years old, at least by the time they graduate from their bachelor's program. They're 26 from the time that they get out of a residency, that they get out of medical school, and 30 by the time they're graduating from their residency. Almost exclusively, obstetricians and gynecologists are female, are young women. They are growing their families, and we are finding that their length of full- scope practice is less than 10 years, on average, before they stop doing births and move to either a hospitalist practice or a primary care-only practice.

Okay, complaints versus case. We go to tracking. We can track our investigations and our cases so much better than we ever could before. And I don't know if anybody from Arizona is still here. But we visited Arizona before we totally designed our system. I suggest you go visit another state and see how they're doing it, learn from their mistakes. But we went to Arizona and in their discipline module, they added this little box that it was discipline information, totally configurable. And we put in ours all the little dates that we want to track a case. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

So you can use it to play podcasts, or audio, or anything like that. We could also use it for the Compact. So this one, I think it went live yesterday. We'll see. Alexa, what are the requirements to obtain a compact license? - There are 11 Uniform Licensure Requirements to obtain a multi-state license. Please visit our website at www.ksbn.ks.gov/nlc for more information. - So instead of repeating back all of the information through the 11 ULRs, we could use...you know, basically, send them to a link. So where do I see these voice assistants going in the future?

Now, I use the NCSBN website all the time because I'm a big fan of NCSBN, but frontline nurses, do you think that they're on the NCSBN website all the time? Do you think many of them are even aware of? ©2024 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 7 - No. - No. No. So I'm not sure that most frontline nurses would know to navigate to that website, but we included it because we're trying to be as inclusive, you know, of results as possible. What we found is that of the ATD programs that we landed on, 26 of them were nursing specific, 13 of them were multi- professional, and 4 of them, we couldn't tell from the internet search.
