And we looked at a huge number of factors and variables that may be involved in that. - Do I have anybody else? You blind me with dental floss up here. Oh, hey. - [Ruth] Hello. Hi, I'm Ruth Martinez. What if that hospital offered you a permanent job and you decided to stay? Well, then that changes the story, right? You become a resident of that state and you need to get a new license, new driver's license, new compact license. But, for the most part, travel nurses visit other states temporarily, okay? So, you know, I always think of the difference as when you're going to another state, are you taking a moving van, a U-Haul truck, or are you just taking a suitcase because you intend to come back and it is when you're making those permanent moves that you need to get a new license in the new state.

But in the 2024 cycle, we were thrilled to include the northern Mariana Islands and Guam. The core of the survey instrument is comprised of the forum, so that's the National Forum of Nursing Workforce, State Nursing Workforce Centers, Nurse Supply Minimum Dataset. This is kind of a general framework of about 26 questions or so, that include both demographic and workforce measures. So, age, gender, ethnicity, race, and then years' experience, practice type, specialty setting, etc.. Each cycle, though, we also regularly embed several custom elements. We endeavor for those not to change too much, because we want the continuity of the longitudinal data tracking with this survey.

So if we took a patient that, for example, had a respiratory issue and was in the home setting, we have a nurse who does a visit and visiting another faculty member who actually is acting as a patient, and like I said, it's on video, the patient has many symptoms, including circumoral pallor, shortness of breath, clubbed fingers, e ...

So we had to do some of those things, policies and things like that. We had people fully remote for two and a half years, essentially. I have 26 in my chain. So I've got licensing, criminal background checking, and in-operations. So we still had a few people coming in, myself included. I think with our management team, we had us rotating in one day a week which we had been doing up until I think the early April.
